Cirrus Technology helps meet wing goals, warfighter needsProcess improvement and cost reduction goals are endorsed by Air Force Materiel Command, and the 402nd Maintenance Wing at Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins AFB, Ga., looks for innovative ways to support these goals. The Wing has leveraged the Small Business 8(a) program to improve its material cost management process in order to reduce overall maintenance repair costs and improve fiscal accountability. Cirrus has supported the 402nd MXW in tracking material expenditures for the past four years. Cirrus’ efforts include identifying overcharges and collecting and submitting appropriate actions to recoup these overcharges for the Depot Maintenance Activity Group revolving fund. This task involves a wide range of expertise in material processes, including financial billing, processing, material planning, and requirements computations. The contributions towards the Wing’s focus on cost management of material costing and reimbursements for overcharges have been invaluable to its overall financial well-being and in meeting the mission through the savings generated. Additionally, the team’s experience and knowledge provided the support needed to augment deficiencies in the Wing’s resources due to attrition and lack of training. |
